Accredited andrology & IVF labs
The LLU Center for Fertility & IVF laboratories are accredited by The Joint Commission in cooperation with the Society of Assisted Reproductive Technology (SART).
CAP is generally viewed as the leader in the establishment of stringent requirements and standards for high quality laboratory and medical care. A successful CAP inspection must occur every two years to maintain accredited status.
SART is the primary professional organization dedicated to the practice of IVF and assisted reproductive technology (ART). SART establishes standards, guidelines and personnel requirements for ART. SART members’ practices must report details of each IVF cycle initiated to SART and the CDC annually.
The outcomes of each SART clinic may be viewed on SART’s website. Clinics who are not members of SART are required to report their outcomes to the CDC.

Licensed & registered tissue bank
Our tissue bank is licensed in California and registered with the FDA to conduct all processes associated with the cryopreservation (freezing), storage and distribution of embryos, oocytes and sperm to patients.
Licensing and registration occurs on an annual basis. Regulations established in California and by the FDA are intended to reduce the potential for the transmission of sexually transmitted diseases through ART, artificial inseminations and third party reproductive treatments.
Licensed laboratory testing
Our laboratory is licensed by the by the State of California to perform laboratory testing. Annual licensing requires adherence to well-defined policies and procedures, a strict quality assurance program and meeting performance standards established by state and federal regulations. State and federal laboratory licensing requirements also include accreditation by CAP, Joint Commission or an equivalent accrediting organization.
Accredited ambulatory surgery facility
The LLU Center for Fertility & IVF operating room is accredited by the American Association for Accreditation of Ambulatory Surgery Facilities (AAAASF). AAAASF was created to standardize and improve the quality of medical and surgical care in ambulatory surgery facilities. Patients undergoing procedures at the LLU Center for Fertility & IVF may be assured that our facility meets high standards for patient care and safety in an accredited facility.
