Loma Linda, Calif. (May 4, 2015) – Fertility coverage is available to university employees insured under the Loma Linda University Employee Health Plan. Both diagnosis and treatment of infertility, including IVF procedures, are covered for employees choosing Loma Linda University Center for Fertility.

California is one of 15 states that requires insurers to provide infertility coverage. Most, however, stop short of covering in vitro fertilization (IVF). For LLU Center for Fertility Medical Director Dr. John Jacobson, and university Senior Vice President Mark Hubbard of Risk Management, ensuring that employees gain access to IVF was integral to the university mission of providing “comprehensive, competent and compassionate healthcare.”

“We were privileged to work with Mr. Hubbard towards this goal,” said Jacobson. “The emotional and financial burden placed on patients experiencing infertility is great. We wanted to ease the stress of infertility and provide our community every opportunity to start a family.”

Covered treatment services include:

Individuals covered under the Loma Linda University Employee Health Plan may also receive diagnosis and treatment of infertility through the Loma Linda University Urology Medical Group.
